How to compare vitamin C powder prices
Per serve
Price divided by serves in the jar. Easy when serves are similar.
Per gram of vitamin C
Fairer when serves differ. A single jar of Tangy Vitamin C holds about 217 g of vitamin C (225 serves of 964 mg), so $56.95 is about 26 cents per gram of vitamin C. A 4 pack brings it to about 21 cents.
What else is in the jar
A cheaper powder may be plain ascorbic acid with no buffer and no bioflavonoid. See ascorbic acid powder.
